Empresas Diez Escobar is family-owned company. It was founded in 1920 by Don Alfonso Escobar Villablanca on a 420-hec family farm called Santa Carmen in Sagrada Familia, VII región de Chile, also had a winery with a 3-million liter storage capacity.
In 1950 Don Alberto Diez Berdión starts running the farm and begins planting olive, avocado and orange trees.
Today, Empresas Diez Escobar EDE is a family-owned company which makes and sells its own wines as well as those produced by other wineries, including fruits, packing services, cold storage and others.
Currently the company is lead by the sons and daughters of Don Alberto Diez and Doña Inés Escobar: Carmen Gloria, José Miguel y Luis Alberto. María Inés is an active member of the Board of Directors.
Aiming to improve its performance Empresas Diez Escobar created and founded a number of GTT's (Grupos de Tranferencia Tecnologica, organizations to share technology) in the field of growing fruits, packing, and vineyards with the purpose of promoting the exchange of knowledge in those areas.
